What are the Renegade's engines?
Two engines are available for the Renegade, and they both provide the kind of power that Jeep fans love. Most trims will come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque and pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission. When you get to the Limited, you get treated with a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder that gets you a stark 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque, which also comes with the smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive is an available option on most trims and comes standard on the Limited and Trailhawk.
Can you tell me about some of the Renegade's features?
Sure! The Renegade comes with four main trim levels and several sub-trims, so you'll never be short of choice. Starting things is the Sport trim which comes with 16-inch wheels, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, air conditioning, cruise control, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is a Jeepster Edition for the Sport, which adds 19-inch aluminum wheels, a gloss black grille, and black cloth seats. Next is the Latitude, which adds automatic headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, leather-wrapped steering wheel, tinted rear windows, and upgraded cloth upholstery. This year celebrates Jeep's 80th Anniversary, and there is an 80th Anniversary Edition of the Renegade, which adds an 8.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, black cloth seats, and decorative exterior badging. Taking things up a notch is the Limited trim which delivers 18-inch wheels, automatic wipers with de-icers, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, keyless ignition and entry, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Looking to take things off the road? Go with the Trailhawk trim as it rounds out the lineup with off-road-oriented features such as a raised suspension, front and rear tow hooks, underbody skid plates, and hill descent control.
What are some of the Renegade's safety features?
While the Renegade is a powerful off-road vehicle, it's also one of the safest as it comes with a host of available safety systems. Standard is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path Detection, which will monitor the areas around and behind the Renegade to keep you aware of your surroundings and make better lane changes. Also standard is a Forward Collision Warning System with Active Braking, which will alert you of an impending collision and even apply the breaks in certain situations. Finally, there is a Lane Departure Warning System with Lane Keeping Assist, which will warn you of a lane departure if your Renegade drifts outside the painted lines.
