Under the Challenger SRT Demon's Hood

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is all about the power it offers! For an engine, you can expect to have a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 unit. The engine is made up of a deep-skirt cast iron block and aluminum alloy heads. It produces 840 horsepower, as well at 770 lb-ft of torque, and it makes the car the fastest quarter-mile production car on the planet. The car can speed up from zero to thirty miles per hour (mph) in one second, zero to sixty mph in 2.3 seconds and it can do the quarter mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph. All these numbers make it the most powerful muscle car ever produced. If you're curious, the engine is produced at the Saltillo Engine Plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. The car's drivetrain is a limited-slip differential unit. At launch, the driveline sees 11,164 lb-ft of ring gear torque. This in turn makes for more than one ton of weight being transferred from the front to rear wheels.

Design of Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

This car comes standard with four Nitto NT05R street-legal, drag-race tires. This type of tires is a first for a factory-production car. These tires were designed specifically for this car to give the car plenty of grip. The tires are mounted on 11 x 18-inch wheels, and each tire measures 12.6 inches wide. SRT Performance Pages and Drive Modes can both be displayed on the car's Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen. Performance Pages will let you have access to real-time data, such as gauge readouts for intake air and transmission fluid temperatures, timers for reaction time, and plenty more! Drive Modes include Auto (Street) mode, Drag Mode and Custom Mode. Auto Mode will let you have access to Eco mode. Drag Mode makes it so that the car's paddle shifters are automatically turned on. With Custom Mode, you can configure just about any combination of options available in Auto or Drag Modes.
