New 2017 RAM 1500 at Three Rivers for Pittsburgh, PA
For 2017, the RAM 1500 Rebel trim adds a big list of new features! It now adds automatic dual-zone temperature control, anti-spin differential, a security alarm, remote start, rear backup camera, rear park assist, and a media hub with the Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen. The other trims have some changes, as well, like the Sport gets remote start and security, the Big Horn adds automatic temperature control, and the Laramie Longhorn adds LED bed lighting, Smartbeam, Keyless Go, and rain sensing wipers. Under the 1500's Hood
All the RAM 1500 trucks come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, no matter which engine is included. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter gas V6 the produces 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Instead of a traditional shift lever it comes with a rotary knob. There are three options for drivetrain: rear-wheel drive as standard and two 4WD systems. One 4WD system is traditional system with manual mode selection. The other 4WD system can switch between rear- and four-wheel drive system depending on the situation. Another engine option is a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The HFE comes with the EcoDiesel which is a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine. The EcoDiesel engine 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. When this truck is properly equipped the V6 gas engine can tow up to 7,610 pounds, the V6 diesel can tow up to 9,210 pounds, and the V8 engine can tow up to 10,640 pounds.
Design of RAM 1500
The RAM 1500 is built for performance and capability. There so many configurations of the pickup. There is the regular cab, quad cab, and crew cab. The regular cab has two doors and the option of 6-foot-4-inch or 8-foot cargo bed. The quad cab has four-doors with a 6-foot-4-inch bed. The crew cab has four doors with bigger rear doors and increased legroom. It has two sizes of the bed a 5-foot-7-inch and 6-foot-4-inch cargo bed. The 1500 comes in 10 trim levels called Tradesman, Express, HFE, SLT, Big Horn, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited. Some of the base features included are black bumpers/grille/door handles, a rear backlight, a spray-in bed liner, vinyl floor covering and upholstery, automatic headlights, a seven-pin wiring harness, cruise control, a six-speaker sound system, and a Class IV receiver hitch. The off-road trim level Rebel includes all-terrain tires, front and rear Bilstein shock absorbers, rear parking sensors, tow hooks, black fender flares, and its own unique cloth and vinyl upholstery. The top features include side-step bars, automatic high beams, automatic windshield wipers, leather upholstery, and a self-leveling air suspension.
